Condolences to the Family of Ald.Ron Wren
This blog would like to offer condolences to the family and friends of Ron Wren, fourth ward Alderman in Peru. We will always remember him as being kind, thoughtful and considerate. He could disagree with us without being a disagreeable person, always a gentleman. He will be missed by his constituents in the Fourth Ward.

Ron Wren was the true voice of reason and common sense on the city council during his entire time in office. Ron showed his independence when he broke rank with the majority of aldermen on several important issues during the past several years. He was never one to simply fall in line with the others. As a resident of the Fourth Ward I was very appreciative of Ron's sense of what was best for the city as a whole and I'm glad I was able to tell him so on a couple of occasions. An honorable man indeed.
I would like to clarify "why" there was no comment from the Mayor of Peru in the NT story of a few days ago about the death of Ald. Wren . A derogatory comment made to this blog is the reason for this explanation.
Mayor Harl was on vacation out of the U.S. when this occurred and unavailable for comment. However this explanation was got given in the story and it should have been so that people would not be questioning why so many of the Aldermen were asked to comment and nothing from our Mayor.
I would not justify the Mayor Harl vacation for three days in the Bahamas as being out of reach. The city cannot allow the Mayor out of contact in this age of global communications.
Your reasoning of no comment is again just a cop out and a cover up for the Mayor. Contact his secretary.
Lois: Surely you do not mean that someone would be so cold and cruel as to insinuate that the Mayor refused to comment or had nothing to say regarding this delicate issue? No human being can be that cold hearted - can they? It's too bad the news article could not have mentioned the mayor's absence and unavailability to comment.
The news trib is so full of news, that they probably didn't have enough room to state that the current mayor was out of town. g
ANON 5:14 "Contact his secretary" - why?
5:14Pm
I did not mention where he had gone and yet you knew, that indicates you are very much in the know at city hall and yet have the arrogance to state the Mayor should have been contacted for a comment. I will let the readers draw their own conclusions as I have already.
6:57 Good point Lois. You did not mention where he went yet someone had that information and that someone wants us to contact his secretary? An insider? That's sad - if true!
I think the insider tells someone, who thinks she knows everything, and starts complaining about it. Did you ever see anyone so mean and petty about everything. Shes just trying to make trouble. She should put more time on her own blog, and then it wouldn't be down so much.
The person that is the insider,is known to a lot of people. It shouldn't be hard to figure out.
Further more Mayor Harl is a gentleman. He wouldn't knowingly hurt anyone. Mr. insider and his accomplice, should get a life.
