Peru Workers Out Cleaning the City Today
Early this morning, I heard the street sweeper going by and friends tell me a lot of work is being done in the 28th Street Park sprucing the park up by cleaning out weeds and trees. How are things in your neighborhood?

We live on the east end, in the old part of town. The street sweeper, came down the street around the cars one time, in June. I don't think thats keeping the town cleaned up.
Anon 9:45 Great suggestion! I have already been cleaning the curb area for over a year. Looking forward to any other cost saving ideas you or anyone else has to be submitted. A idea that I have is that you and everyone else who is a citizen of the City of Peru attends city council meetings if you don't already. What happened to the idea of televising the meetings?
RE: televising meetings. You are right, the cable agreement should have been taken care of by now since the comcast rep was at the council meeting about a month ago. Will check into once again and see if any progress has been made.
Lois, this cable agreement is like everything else, all talk and then nothing is ever done. The aldermen hope that we forget, because lets face it do you think they want the meetings televised?

When I lived in Oglesby I saw the street sweeper 2-3 times a week. Now in Peru I haven't seen it in two years.
