2 of the alderman who voted in favor of rehiring the lobbyist stated that his accomplishments and goals were vague. Is that a reason to rehire? Think not!

12:20 Who, what? Not many will vote against the Boss.

Off the topic but I took a ride to Oglesby to see their banners and was totally impressed. Good job to those who designed the program, supported the program, and did the labor to erect them.

12:43 Read the article in the News Tribune. Alderman Radke and alderman Sapienza both made similar statements yet voted to keep him.

Thankfully 2017 is an election year and Alderman Sappy's term is over. Will somebody in the third ward PLEASE run against him??

The 4th of July is just around the corner and with it's coming we are once again cleaning up the area to impress visitors just as we cleaned up Baker Lake before the fishing rodeo. Why can't we keep it clean all year and show Peru pride for Peru's own citizens? Let's continue that Peru pride all the time not just when visitors will be coming here. We have enough summer help. Put them to work.

Oglesby does look nice. Lots of nice effort and pride. People have faith in their leadership and they respect each other. Goals will be achieved.

7:50 You're absolutely right and that's what is lacking in Peru, faith in their leadership and respect for each other.

well said 750!!!
I am a long time resident of Peru and visited the LaSalle fest last weekend and I must say I was very impressed to see thier mayor working the event.
It was a very nice outing which was very enjoyable!
WHy cant Peru do something like that like we used to?
Are we really the leader of the valley anymore?

You would rather have A mayor tending bar at the local fest then having a Mayor creating business, improving infrastructure and balancing the bottom line? Some of us expect more in leadership then tending bar for political votes!

Sounds like you were at the La Salle Fest also, hope you had a good time.

There is a happy medium between staying behind closed doors doing city business and also time to spend enjoying and volunteering in community activities. Let's be aware that the La Salle mayor and the Peru mayor are 2 distinct types of people, different personalities are miles apart.

9:04 AM, July 01, 2016 - tell me how Mayor Harl created business? Government cannot create business, jobs, or anything else related to commerce. Mayor Halr is a retired Union Hack. He probably did more, as a Union Hack, to prevent business than anything else. Just another Rat Man.

Radtke has become the biggest disappointment of the council.

Truely a waste of space on the council, just Boss Hogs Yes man now
