How nice of Bartley to give kudos to Alderman Perez after he lost the election. Bartley was in on the letter writing campaign against Nelson. And I used to like Bartley!

11:42, get over the baby induced comments would you. Great, you backed Nelson, it's also great Bartley backed Waldorf, so what, it's called freedom of expression. Bartley should have been given credit for acknowledging the good things Perez did. So you don't like him,I'm sure he is not losing any sleep over it. This post had nothing to do with the election, that's history.

This past election is now a part of the history of Peru and undoubtedly will be retold for years to come because there is written evidence of what took place and it will also be evidence of how to win votes. In years past I never believed the residents of Peru were so gullible but I and many others do now.

Don't get angry, it is just something that happened and I look upon it as the fallibility of some people and as the history of Peru continues to be written, you will understand how it fits into future plans,....I do.

Only you and I won't get the opportunity to vote on these plans unless you happen to be a voting member of this city government.

I don't anticipate an influx of thinking people who understand how important their vote is and very likely this same thing may happen again if the sitting government feels threatened. So sit back and watch and you may find yourself saying, I knew that was going to happen.

2:46 it goes beyond Bartley as a citizen backing a candidate. He used his position as city clerk to publically endorse a candidate. I think that's wrong. What does "baby induced comments" mean? I take it you are a man who has no idea what inducing a baby is all about.

9:35, he stays in office because nobody including you won't run against him.

Differences of opinion keep the world going. We have heard "It would be a heck of a world if we all liked the same thing"
I look upon politics the same way and find no reason to be angry because a friend does not choose the same candidate as I do. I know that person is exercising his rights as I am.
A election takes place to seat the candidate who the majority of voters want at the time to be their government representative. In no way should a election be a grudge match determining the strength of friendships. I'd rather lose this type of friend than I would lose my right to vote for whom I want.

Anon 9:35 AM I saw Dave Saturday evening for a delicious meal and a few cocktails. He looked a lot more like a Big Pink Elephant to me than a "snake in the grass".

Bartley is now and always has been a " you fill in the blanks" during municipal election campaigns. He knows where his bread is buttered and his meal ticket is dependent on keeping people who will work for responsible and efficient government out of office in Peru. They all know they must defeat any candidate who might upset the managerial chaos that is Peru city government. Bartley ranks right up there with Harl in terms of lack of character, lack of integrity, and a willingness to stab anybody in the back in order to stay in office.
