I don't see how they cover the overhead with only five machines and no drink sales.

What is the Kristy blog? How do you get on?

What Overhead? Rent the building by the month, set it up to pay for the minimum of utilities, get a liquor license and 5 machines from a supplier at no cost to yourself put 2 cans of beer in a small cooling device (as one new business chain has been doing) and you are in business with a a very small investment. Also advertise that you will give players free soda and coffee.
The state has botched up the legalized video gaming machines so bad that I fear the day they become involved in medical marijuana. Similar to video gaming I believe the state will keep changing its rules to get the biggest bang for its buck resulting in a greater danger to those in need of medical marijuana than presently exists.

What is the rent? There has to be somebody in the place during working hours. Electricity. Water. Heating. Cooling. TV Cable or Satellite (Commercial, not residential). With a maximum of five machines, I don't see this creating sufficient profit. Doubly so if the owner hires somebody to sit there.

There is a link to the right side of this blog called Peru Airport Funds which will take you to the Kristy blog.

Isn't the person sitting there getting less than minimum wages because they receive tips?

that only applies to restaurants.

I have noted that one aspect of the 'Kristy" blog shows the involvement of Attorneys to respond to FOIA requests from IDOT. I personally have done FOIA requests from IDOT, and they have an extremely cumbersome form and procedure they require. I have never been clear on this.
My counsel said that FOIA requests need not follow any strict form, although several key elements must be in all of them, and they must be addressed to the right FOIA officer. But IDOT takes it to a whole nother level.
No matter what you think of Kristys style or sarcasm, please note the run around she is (was) getting. That rarely is indicative of simple incompetence. Something is going on. All you anti conspiracy bloggers feel free to attack lol.

If you actually read the FOIA laws, they are written to provide the government a blueprint for non-disclosure. They are not really intended to make it easier to find information. For instance, how many financial reports are provided in Excel? They are always provided in a non-searchable, non-sortable format to make it difficult. The last thing the government wants is for anyone to actually know what is really going on.

This is off subject. Was recently talking with a co-worker of mine. I had no idea that there is a "judicial Inquiry board" that has to do with the judicial system in every state. People can file a complaint regarding court proceedings if they have a legimate reason as to why they want an investigation. Seems as if every department of gov. has resources awailable to file complaints. I did some research online and found it to be interesting. I had no idea and probably most people don't know.

Actually the FOIA laws are pretty simple, but some agencies try to throw up roadblocks requiring special forms be filled out. IDOT in particular tries to block it because they have so many dubious contracts and really have many legal issues given the state of transportation in this state. It is a heavy patronage and overstaffed government agency.

What is this runaround talk. If you read the text, it has been more than accommodating. The fact is that there is no conspiracy. Its a private concert that provides revenue for the city. You can argue about how much revenue the city should receive, but the point is made in the fact that it is revenue for the airport. That is the intention of the GUIDELINES outlined in the text of the officials. If you read the letters, notes and emails you will see that the government officials are consistent with the decision that nothing is wrong with the airport concerts.

Except the fact that the revenues do not exist and are cancelled by unreported expense. And the fact that the prior year revenues did not exist and were expense reimbursement.

In reading Kristys blog, either Macklinck (sp) is on the take, or the dumbest administrator in the world. Seems like he believes anything Harl/Hylla spin his way.
The city seems to have told him flat out bald faced BS.

I wonder why the FAA got involved in the first place. It seemed originally they thought these concerts were stupid and wanted payback from the start, then somehow got turned around and now think they are Gods gift to the Airport.

2:51, the first paragraph of your blog is interesting. From reading it I'd say you didn't grow up in this area. Ask around regarding your first paragraph. Very few people do things for free or for a low cost, unless there is a kickback somewhere or a wink wink. Really think about what I blogged. A large % of business/businesses are crooked just like a large % of politicians are crooked too. MY OPINION. I could go on and on and on.

1:24 yeah I guess I could believe you if the dude was from here, but he is a paper pusher in Springfield. They specialize in creating red tape, but he seems to just be rolling over and letting Scotty scratch his belly lol. But he gets all snarky about Kristy pointing out what an incompetent lazy knob he is being.
My guess is they fed him some steak and told him Kristy is a nut job, so he believes all their crap about making money and protecting the airport by following strict safety rules. Rules they never had of course until forced to have them for Kid Rock. Money they never got till then either.

Anon 1:50 and all others do you really believe that elected politicians and their appointees are that bad? This is Harl's 2d term would you vote for him and Hylla again? With proper maneuverings they could be elected to a 3rd term.
Personally I never thought Harl would be re-elected to a 2d term. He is really a piece of work.
