This blog is maintained for the sole purpose of allowing the people of Peru and those interested in the cities of the Illinois Valley to express their views.
“It doesn’t take a majority to win, just a tireless minority that will keep starting brush fires in the mind and hearts of their fellow men.” Samuel Adams
At one time Peru had a small band that sounded like this called Doodledorfers and think the man who led the band might have been Harry Hundt. Please correct if that is incorrect.
Why are so many cities such as Ottawa, Utica, LaSalle, Spring Valley, Mendota and Princeton making such a effort to duplicate Peru and it city activities?
Do you realize you just wrote something that is "fake news"? All of the mentioned cities are doing a wonderful job with unique and interesting Holiday events? Fantastic creativity of which Peru has none.
The only thing City of Peru has done for Christmas are the old inappropriate banners downtown. The CSO did some new decorations and the Rec. Dept. and Fire Dept. did a Santa parade and think there might have been a breakfast involved with that.
How can you say that the Spring Valley lighted parade was a duplication of Peru that has never done that? How can you say that La Salle's Rotary Park and their Christmas in LaSalle and Christkindlmarket was a copy of something Peru has never had or never done?
After a busy weekend celebrating the holidays with their Whoville celebration Oglesby has now set up and filled their ice skating rink getting it ready for the cold weather ahead. With the kids off of school for the holiday hopefully they will be able to skate. Does anyone know if Peru has set theirs up yet or if they still have it? Oh well, Peru residents can always go to Echo Bluff or Oglesby to skate.
Smoothing Machine? Was someone thinking that the Black Hawks were coming to Peru for a game?Peru seems to have a problem keeping things where they belong - dump truck and chlorine bags.

Please explain.
I think 10:46's comment was called "tongue-in-cheek.
We all hope the same as I would hate to think that a Peru resident actually believed that.

If anyone has questions about the ice skating rink contact King. Does Peru still own the ice smoothing machine?
9:59 Since the ice machine is a question related to the ice rink use your own logic and contact King.
