"City Hall has a new 15-foot tall Christmas tree that will be lit during an open house that starts at noon. The tree will feature decorations made by grade school students. The Peru Parkside Choir will perform."
I have been to the Peru City Hall many times and have a pretty good idea of the size of the lobby and once we set up the 15 foot tree and bring in the Peru Parkside Choir and the aldermen and their families, how much room will be left for the remaining residents?

None!
I think they changed the time to 12:30 because they didn't plan properly. The Pearl Harbor parade and ceremony won't be done by noon.
So in other words, it is a private event?
Why not go and support the children who are singing? Hopefully many children over the years will enjoy performing by the tree and showing their families the ornaments they make. These are lasting memories. Then let us know how many folks fit in the lobby.

I certainly would never be offensive to children but unless the city chooses to put the tree in the community room, there will not be enough room for people. If it will be placed in the community room, I do apologize for my comments and would encourage many people to find the time in their day to attend the ceremony. But the city only stated city hall and the height of the tree led some to assume it would be in the lobby. Perhaps an official will correct the situation and state the location. We would appreciate that.
I'm not an official, but I was told it will be in the center lobby where the chairs are located.
And I like the idea of a tree lighting and kids singing, but a little thought and planning needs to go into it. There is not enough room to accommodate a large crowd where it is going to be placed.
Sapienza will be in the front row smiling he spent a 1699 of taxpayer money!!!
Lasting memories? Really 2:52 PM?
I'm not going to say any more to spoil your Holiday visions of granduer other than to say;
Thank You Polly Anna.
The topic is "How many Peruvians will fit in the lobby of city hall?"
The answer is dependent on how many politicians you can keep out of the lobby of city hall at the same time.
After purchasing a $1699 Xmas tree I am hopeful that all of them can be kept out of city hall. Sadly we have a group representing Peru that wishfully could be bought for what they are worth and sold for what they think they are worth. Assuaredly you'd make enough to financially eliminate all of Perus' debt.
Now that everyone has had their fun what was the actual cost of the exaggerated $1699 Xmas tree? Sappy has never spent $1699 for his own tree therefore I know he would not charge the city more than he would pay for a tree if it was for himself. That is just good, honest representation.

The actual cost listed on the city disbursement sheet for the Xmas tree is $1699.00. Figures don't lie.
10:34 The actual cost of the tree is $1699. That is a fact.
Is the city going to rent out city hall for private Xmas parties and what is the their quoted prices? To the many who couldn't understand a $1699 artificial tree this possibility once again, similiar to the taxpayers investing multi millions in our airport for Peru politicians to create a local concert location, shows the financial ability of Peru representation.
If the 3rd ward alderman spent $1600.00 for a Xmas Tree he is a insult and disgrace to his ancestors history which are known to be outstanding stewarts of finance. Oh well, if there is a dumb one in the group you can be assured that Peru would end up with him as a alderman, but why in the hell did we get two at the same time? One from the 1st and one from the 3rd?
