There Will Be Music at the Music Powell Sculpture

If you have read the minutes of previous Public Service meetings you will have seen a request from Ald. Sapienza to restore music to the Maud Powell Sculpture in downtown Peru. He brought this up at Finance yesterday and for a cost of app. $1000 a timed program will be placed in back of the sculpture. It is unknown at this time the type of music and time it will be played. So maybe you all could help him with suggestions.

I remember before the old music player broke that people would laugh at John Phillip Sousa marching band music coming out of a figure dedicated to classical violin by a world famous artist.

If you have to spend the "pork" money, please make it appropriate to the artist Maud was and play her music.

Anything less is certainly not appropriate to the lovely piece of art and don't insult her memory.

If you have suggestions please place a call to Alderman Sapienza, third ward alderman.

I suggest that the council stop trying to figure out how to spend more money and concentrate on legitimate needs.

I always thought it was funny that we built a statue to memorialize a person and family that determined that their bet opportunity was to leave Peru.

What would be really funny is if statue were built to memorialize a person and families that determined that their best opportunity was to leave Peru. There would be a string of statues in all directions across the USA. Very similar to India, Peru has its own caste system and if you don't already belong don't step into it. That includes you Lois and all your pals: Steve, Lynda. Travis, Sherry, Rodney and Marvin and all others who have made efforts to improve Peru.

I fine it very disturbing to receive all of the recorded political campaigning that has invaded my home as to call another politician who is going to read a prepared speech. A speech that he wants you to hear rather than listen to another persons viewpoint.
What is it with the third ward that they have elected two aldermen that only know how to throw money away that is not theirs.

Peru has a caste system like India? What the heck? I'm not from Peru and I'm doing very well. No help from whoever you see as the elite. Of course I don't spend my time on a blog complaining about how the system is screwing me over, so it would be hard for you to relate.

Anon 7:44 PM I agree with 9:30 AM. You seem confused you state you don't spend your time on the blog but lo and behold here you are on the blog. Maybe you are the person having a hard time relating! Better luck in the future and always remember the helping hand is only a reach away.
