Was the man who drove the snowplow a city employee or was he considered to having left the dispatchers occupation and waiting to be hired for the $23/hr. job. With so many open ends who would pay for any liabilities.

All part-time firefighters are city employees.

Thank you 1:17 PM. Does a part time firefighter have authorization to take Peru city equipment and utilize it for private use? Should he be using it out of town and who is liable when he does? I would appreciate a answer bases on legality not someone's interpolation or made up reasons dreamed up to suit the incident. Since Rod Perez was a city of Peru employee when he was repeatedly harassed he has a very, very strong case.

"All part-time firefighters are city employees". Wasn't this provision decided upon for insurance purposes rather than the use of city property being taken to a neighboring city to plow neighbors drive ways. At times it appears that certain city officials stretch facts to suit purposes to their own advantage. What they cannot stretch is the question of who is liable, who paid for the gas, who is paying for maintenance, wear & tear?
Are city vehicles keep in a motor pool which have to be signed out by signature before they are allowed to be driven out of the motor pool. Since a huge orange city dump truck disappeared for months and was finally turned in at Hennepin hunting and grasslands by someone from that area you would believe that all of the above would already be taken care of.

If all part time firefighters are city employees - are they union or non union, what contract or employee handbook do they and the city live by?

Part-time employees are covered by the employer handbook. Should they take home any city property? Of course not!

Should a employee harassed by another employee be liable? Of course.

Should the employee who is suing those in the city be able to create proof? Of course. Will the employee who harassed another employee lose their job? Of course. Is it all factual? Or like most suits, is it a money grab? With nothing to lose in a he said, you said suit the main objective will be $$$$$$. I don't think anybody will argue that point.

Peru is always the city upon which legalities becomes questionable and a high percentage of a certain appointed city officials are viewpoints of his own laws rather than legal fact. This has been going on for too many years and someone with a truthful and positive attitude should be employed to replace him. Unfortunely the Mayor of Peru is determined to live and die with the actions and ideas of his present self conscious empire builder. To relieve one the other will have to be displaced and hopefully one swept would also include KING AND Vickrey.
