A coordinated police force is a great idea being buried so deep into the earth that another $10,500 will have to be spent for plane tickets to China to recover the idea. On second thought leave the idea there and lets start all over without secret meetings first and open meetings later. Presently all the wrong ideas are being presented by all the wrong people!

Was the business recently shut down on Progress Blvd. one of the new businesses of 2017 in Peru credited to the Economic Director Robert Vickrey? How is it that a business of the same industry has been allowed to continue for years and years without any enforcement of the law? If both of them are illegal why are not both of them taken to court and shut down? Is there something or someone involved that we are not to know about?

Are they both in city limits?

This comment not about above comments. Didn’t know where to post. -- What happened to the road along the East side of North view School. Wasn’t that repaved about 3 years ago ?? Pretty bad if city has to pay, every 3 years, to repave this mess. There are a LOT of bad sections of road around town that need repaving. They could use the money that this will take. Not an authority on road building, but this sure looks like a tinker toy paving job to me. Just my opinion. Peru tax payer.

The likely response from Jeff King is probably he does not know what caused the problem!

The citizenship of Peru has never taken such a political spanking in its long and proud history of over 175 years. Peru has had the fortune of always having men as Mayor who were the right person for the right time or who raised themselves to the level of leadership needed for the cities future. No matter what the position of Peru those who led it and those living in it always keep the mission of improving it in their hearts.

Unfortunely the attitude of todays leadership, Harl, Bernabei, King and Vickery have taken on a attitude of do in Peru what is best for me rather than what is best for Peru. The four names ( one elected and the other three appointed by the one elected ) listed above are individuals who have moved to Peru and never been truly worthy of being called Peruvians. As the 11th year of their reign approaches this is becoming more and more evident.

There is a final group to be discussed which is also failing Peru. This group is the Peru City Council who has joined hands with the four already mentioned rather than enforce them to proper management and the citizenship which has taken a strong stance of if it doesn't directly involve me why should I become involved. To all involved above you are soon to be asked for better than $50,000 through your council to discuss matters which you have no representative voice to publicly express. Is this what you really want, a small group of 16 mostly non elected city wackos using your money for some goal that has not been truly expressed? As always their is a someone that will have a want created for their own ultimate benefit whether the majority have a need or not.

my opinion is king was appointed all different job descriptions in order to get his foot in the door, my prediction is most will be taken away except full time fire chief, and his salary will not decrease, excuse will be full time chiefs make 100k a year, not true in a city with a 10k population, now lets see if king has a fire science degree known as a bachelors degree, 4 year college degree- interesting lets see a breakdown of fire calls per year, carbon monoxide calls? actual fire calls? ect....

Your opinion is to be warranted attention. To pay more attention to the PFD and its Chief would be fair to all involved. What I hear and have read are surely reasons for micro hands on management!

10:44 Your predication is already a reality. Mr. King was the code enforcement office and the building and zoning inspector. Now those positions have been filled by 2 new individuals. I can guarantee that Mr. King's salary has not been decreased. And, the zoning inspector is now going to be the responsibility of Mr. Carls our engineer, not Mr. King.

Management magic I - keep moving employee from job to job so only a minimum number of others discover how inefficient he is. Get rid of him as soon as the opportunity arises.
Management magic II - keep reducing his responsibilities until there is very little for him to do. In time he will have so little to do that you have to fire him.
Management magic III - Goodbye Chief gniK, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
