VII. ADJOURNMENT
There is a Committee Mtg of the Whole scheduled for 6:30 PM. I have gone through the information online and can find no reason for the meeting and no agenda that makes any sense, so if interested please draw your own conclusions.
There will be a Budget mtg from 7:15 PM to 7:30 PM so we can hope no one has any questions on this budget and mine would take at least an hour.
At 7:30 PM there is a Regular City Council mtg. if you have any interest after being at meetings for the last hour and a half prior to that.
You have to see it to believe it, so divy it up with your friends and family and have your own meeting afterwards to figure out what was important and what is not. I can't believe what they are doing.
Who will explain the budget if Treasurer is away because of personal business due to the funeral of his mother on Monday?

This is a common tactic to compartmentalize information and prevent the opposition from gaining a complete view. This, coupled with our newspapers lack of reporting and follow up, prevents even those with an interest from knowing what is going on.
It looks as though the rec board agenda offers one and only one option - take the backstop from 28th st. park and move it. Don't our city employees have enough work to keep this city functioning? What's wrong with the 7 and 8 year olds practicing on the field that already exists in 28th st. park? What's wrong with putting a portable one at Washington Park(after all isn't a splash pad in the works for that area)?
I have only one questions regarding the backstop and it is this: What gives one or 2 members of a volunteer recreation board the right to think that because one resident of Peru wishes to have a practice backstop located at Washington Park, we will destroy another location in the process and incur a large cost?
There have been some change to the Recreation Board but in my estimation, there are still huge problems as some members seem to think they can do whatever they want whenever they want. Remember their attitude toward pickleball. This board does not work in harmony for the whole city but rather for themselves or someone they want to do something for and this is WRONG,
Perhaps it has become time to update all recreational equipment and parks by building them on wheels so they can be transferred from area to area on the whims of all one man committees and self appointed important bozos.
Would the Administrator of Deer Spotting accept a similar position in the same city such as Administrator of Park Spotting?
11:59 A of DS here. I thank you for considering me for the new position, but I really am very busy with my new assignment of counting closed business fronts since our Mayor took over.
Since most of them get demolished eventually, making more paths for the deer , we like to get an idea of changing deer path migrations. Helps us to spot.
We had appointed another deer spotter to chart the areas that will be developed under the Vickrey business development plan. But he fell asleep waiting at city hall. I might be able to interest him in the position.
Recreation Board met, I guess, but this is one very strange way of conducting a meeting. All members looked to be present and the President Ray Zbrowski and Secretary Jan Grabowski seemed to be making decisions without actually calling a vote on the issue of the backstop. The the 2 of them simply announced that they had decided that it would cost too much to move the backstop and it was not in very good condition anyway. Instead they would like a new one installed and evidently someone had already contacted a fence co. for prices. From what I can see 2 members are all that is needed because they did not vote on the issue for which this meeting was called and the remaining people serving on the board were ignored.
A of DS 11:59 replying. Very happy to hear from you and find that you have entered in Peru's favorite trend, multitasking.
Would you kindly check your newly appointed deer spotter. Hopefully you are correct that he has fallen asleep waiting at city hall for the Vickrey business development plan. I have fear of a complete state of hibernation or worse yet rigor mortus. I find it interesting that you would challenge your protege with the most difficult of tasks which is the assignment of having absolutely nothing to do.
Please interest him in the newly created A of PS. There will be a enforced term limitation of 5 years associated with the position and a free tire pump and hot air tank.
A of DS, very happy to hear that you have acquired additional help for such a major responsibility. It is surprising assuming that you as the Peru formerly titled Director of Business Development (DBD) presently titled Director of Community Development (DCD) are performing as a city non-paid volunteer with the possibility of a meager expense account have created enough interest in Deer Spotting (DS) to add a Assistant Ambassador of Deer Spotting (AA of DS}. In the short and long range planning have you included a separate city government entity in Peru possibility known as the Peru
Deer Spotters ((PDS). If so consider including the PDS facility within the DCD's plans of a Recreational and Event Center (REC).
8:53 A of DS here. Although I admire your fluid use of three letter designations, they did lose me. It seemed as if you think I am Mr. Vickrey? I have never been the Director of Business Development, nor the Director of Anything, and my sole passion is spotting Deer.
Actually, I may have been the imaginary Director of a marching band when I was eight, but my parents often used that as an excuse to cover up my attempts to fly, flapping my arms repeatedly.
Kids.
A of DS I must say you have led from all indications a very honorary and useful life. At the early age of 8 attempting to fly by flapping your arms repeatedly until now having a sole passion of spotting Deer. Those years in between whether painting houses or instructing have served you well. No, I have never thought of you being Missing 51.
In conclusion I would be much prouder of being the imaginary Director of a marching band in my youth than I would be spending a lifetime flapping my jaws as a buffoon in adulthood.
I do take some small amount of pride in my use of three letter designations but above all I take the up most satisfaction in never utilizing the localities dirtiest three - FBI.
In response to Lois's 10:14 comment on April 21st: I was always under the impression that no matter what, each person on a committee had one and only one vote and that nobody's vote pulled more weight than anybody elses. However, we do know that in this town certain individuals have more pull than the average citizen and are likely to get their way. It seems as though the rec special meeting proved that fact. Didn't this committee once before violate the rules and regulations that govern it?
