Does the City have a travel policy? Most businesses and government use the Federal Per Dium rates. For Cook County Illinois, the rate is $173 per day for lodging and $71 per day for meals. These are the September rates. The milage rate appears correct.
Since it is only a two day trip, the per dium would be prorated because breakfast should not be charged for the first day and dinner should not be charged the second day. Also, I believe the Chicago Hilton has a free breakfast.

My question is.....Are they showing the cost which includes the $500 draw (like Bartley) or is this the cost without the $500 draw?

And.............what seminar did each of them attend and when will the reports be added into the record.

The city paid for the conference fee instead of allowing each aldermen to take care of it on his own as previously done with a %500 up front check according to City Clerk Bartley.

NOT ONE alderman has mentioned ONE word about any seminar they attended. Is disgusting the appropriate word to describe this attitude?
Please don't forget that 3 of them are up for re election in April!.

To All - Please be aware that Lois has thus far posted only the expense summary pages for 2010. There is a total of 221 pages of expense records for the years 2005 thru 2010. We are trying to figure out how to give you access to all those records on this blog. When you see the actual reciepts, or the lack of reciepts and you see an actual copy of the restaurant check submitted for re-imbursement it puts the situation into perspective. Hopefully Lois will be able to make all the records available. We have them all in pdf files and would be willing to send them to anybody who contacts me or Lois directly. If anybody can provide some tech support in terms of how to properly convert these files for viewing please contact Lois.

Well they spent a total of $2959.65, /Do you think they learned anything from it. I have not heard a new thing they brought to the meetings about the iml convention. The money spent could have been used for the study of the pool.
Remember we can vote some of these aldermen out in April.

Of all people that should be attending the convention, should have been the treasurer and mayor. But they know the city is broke, and don't need to party on the citys money. Very upstanding men. I can't say the same for some aldermen. g

Lois: According to the reimbursement sheet above, alderman Mikyska he asked for $525.33. In reality the disbursement sheet indicates he was indeed reimbursed $995.34. Quite a difference! Why do you think he got an extra $400?

I I I don't know what to say. I guess our city isn't as bad off as we all think. The aldermen seem to feel that these expenses are within our tight budget. They have to know that we are combing over city expenditures with a fine tooth comb. Perhaps some of them feel that this is their "last hurrah" before they are voted out. I also find it disturbing that Professor Mikyska misspelled conference.

you can use Google Documents to post them. You can log in using your blogger account and post the documents. You will get a hyper link which you can post in the blog. If you want the documents public, don't password protect them. I would combine them into several large documents.

Due to my error in putting up last years expenditures with this years, I had to pull your post. I apologize. Busy schedule yesterday and I did watch as closely as I should have. The one up now is correct and I will put the 2009 expenditures which will be only Ald.Mikyska's as he was the only one to go to IML in 2009.

Wow...looks like some of them took advantage of some of the nicer restaurants in the city. Hell, why not? The taxpayers are paying for it anyway.

Is there a reason why everyone needed their own rooms? I know when I travel for work we have to share rooms all the time.

Because they took wives along too at city expense.
