Bruxton Analytic Company Peru is Considering Hiring Them

The cost of using the analytics company would be $50,000 a year.  The council will make the decision at a later date.

Peru is evidently concerned about the many closures of retail occuring in the city especially in the Peru Mall. For $50,000 per year the company will research who comes to Peru and what they are looking for. This would be a 3 year deal I was told.

Help me make a list of who we currently pay to bring retail into the city. We can start with the economic director Vickery and his Oval Wacker Co. We currently have a Lobbyist in Springfield for 24,000 per year. His contract is due to be renewed in a short time. We also pay to maintain a web site for x amout of dollars. And...

How did this gal ever get her foot into the door? Peru is nuts if they waste 50K to get a list of prospects who, in the end, did not have any desire to come to Peru. Save the money and build the police station and dump Vick and the lobbyist. Businesses aren't going to listen to anyone on our payroll. They do their own due diligence and decide if it will be profitable to nest in Peru.

Don't forget to add IVAC to the list and also the recently formed 3 county EDCNCI. We pay and are members of these economic development organizations.

Let me ask how do these companies know about Peru or the Illinoi Valley. Do they just google towns that want my business.
NO you go out and find them and bring them here!!!!
Just like a business you advertise and market your product.
In this case it is Peru.
Yes, Peru is involved with all those org. and Springfield,
I'm ok with Vickery, EDCNC, don't know much about the person in Springfield. I say the more people working on our behalf the better.

Has anyone else noticed the flower planters downtown Peru. Why are they all not the same? Every other town that I've visited has all their planters coordinated with the same colorful flowers. Also, has anyone besides me questioned the large growths in the center of some of the planters? Weren't these professionally planted this year? In my opinion I hope we didn't pay a lot for them.

Did you take the time and make the effort to get the total cost each year for those hires to bring retail to Peru? Offhand I know that the Lobbyist is $24,000. Vickrey has several jobs with the city including travel expenses, cell phone, any expo costs and his business hired by the city called Oval Wacker? The others add up to a great deal more.

Vickrey has one job and that's with Peru. His work is in economic development. You can argue if he is effective or not. I would think that he is a individual contractor and has taken the name Oval Wacker to comply with tax codes and insurance regulations. A Springfield Lobbyist is also employed by Peru, that lobbyist probably has several different entities that he represents. That is not that uncommon, and that is also debatable if he is worthwhile. You have a State Rep and State senator, they and the lobbyist work on behalf of the city but not in economic development.

Anyone who would defend Vickrey and the his phony self-promoting position with the city has got to have a screw loose. What the hell do we pay Harl and the flunky aldermen for? Why do they think they don't have to put in the time and the work of determining all these tasks they use our tax dollars to hire consultants for? I'm pretty sure the elected phonies like to beat their chests and stroke their egos while taking credit for anything that provides them a political bump. Then why are they not held accountable to "do the damn work themselves?" Peru voters should have a binding referendum to abolish the lazy elected officials and just hire a consultant to make all the decisions since Harl and his henchmen obviously lack the intelligence and work ethic to do the job themselves.

Hmm... Vickrey has over 6 percent interest in first state bank. Google the following:. [PDF] r - Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago
Chicago Fed › banking › fr-y-6-pdf-files
President - Oval Wacker Consulting. Partner - Vickrey - Shea, LLC. (4). Percentage of each class of voting securities owned, controlled ...

This tells you what all his hands are in to.
