This is off this topic but has anyone heard yet how much we received from ticket sales for the latest concert and how many cars we parked and how much Streator schools received?

hmmmm... looking at the weather forecast.
Friday, Rain
Saturday, Rain
Sunday, Rain

Are they going to have the Kegger with Fireworks Party on Water Street?

Why wouldn't it be cancelled because of flooding? No different then how it was July 3rd

If the fireworks extravaganza is canceled again and there is no CSO beer tent (set-up, take-down, trash pick-up, and clean-up courtesy of Peru taxpayers), the CSO will have to have another picnic/membership drive at Centennial Park to re-charge it's coffers. This is not good folks. How will the CSO continue its "not so secret" transformation to a bonafide "Political Organization" without the free exposure and fundraising the fireworks and the city of Peru provides for them? It's funny, but I would bet that most of the CSO membership doesn't even realize they belong to a political organization whose primary goal is to influence local elections, including electing its members and in order to benefit its members, members family, or members doing business with the city of Peru. I'll bet some of you bloggers didn't know that either. Just look at who they are and what they do for their members and friends. As I said, many of the members are probably clueless of the fact that they are being played by their brother members in the CSO leadership. But when the city elections roll around and the discussion at the meetings turns to Peru politics, that's when they always give themselves away.
My reasons for making this comment is only to inform the CSO leadership that they can fool some of the people some of the time and well, you know the rest of the story. Before any of you begin asking how I know so much? Well, I've been a CSO member for 14 years. I'm what you might call a "Double Agent", and the CSO's worst nightmare, a Peru reformer.
C'mon weekend thunderstorms! Bring it on!

The CSO is just a bunch of aging baby boomers.

2:21 Your a quality act. And looking for that master conspiracy. Some of those members are actually long time Peru residents that care about the city. Unlike the new outsiders who have very little to offer and big plans for their own influence.

I love it 2:21, you are spot on! Does a tigers spots ever change? Or a zebras stripes? No, they don't. I'm so pissed that four alderman voted for the lobbyist! What's that saying? You plant a potato, you get a potato. Lying, cheating, and stealing. If a person does one of those three evils, then they do all three. THE CITY OF PERU IS A BIG FAT, LYING, CHEATING, STEALING JOKE TO ITS CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS!!

I thought the topic was the lobbyist and his rehire? It has changed to the CSO and those involved. Who gets paid to post these deflections on a regular basis? It must be someone who has got one of those political jobs.

Anon 2:21, you are a very sick person hoping the weather will stop the citizens of the community from having an enjoyable weekend. Pretty selfish to put your political beliefs before an enjoyable community function. Shame on you!

4:02 Good point. Lois allows these deflects often. If someone strikes a nerve on the concerts, there is always some post out of left field that they know will get like 10 bashing blogs, and bury the point on the topic.

really, so us in the CSO are now on the blogs hit list. Unbelievable, no believable. We will work very hard to keep RP MH SW TN LD LC AB TR and the rest out. You are bad for Peru.

Anon 4:02 PM What political jobs.

6:13; I have all the initials figured out except AB. Are women now allowed to join the CSO?

6:13 as long as Jd is not sleeping in a truck and Jo is not ripping the taxpayers off we all sleep better at night!!

The next step is to vote out Waldorf then peru will sleep even better and maybe we can really let the engineer do his job rather than chase sidewalk issues

3:05 pm confirms that reformers are viewed as "outsiders" and then the genius who posted at 6:13 pm just verified what 2:21 is telling us. Picture a cave-man, Outsiders bad! Connected insiders good! Me do what I'm told. Outsiders baaad!
UUUGHHH! Me hungry for donuts. Me got to deli for weak coffee and stale donuts now.

Considering the mind-set of those people in Peru who fear change as if it were the E-Bola Virus, I think AB stands for Any Body.
They are so afraid of independent thinkers I think they will surely soil themselves if some of those they love to hate ever break through from the outside. That is in addition to how they normally soil themselves.

6:13 Don't label all of those in the same capacity. The name calling, personal attacks, come from one individual and everybody knows who that is. I just can't figure out how some of the others, not all, listen to his self-promotion at the cost of others.

Anon 6:13 QUESTION: Are you a active member of the Peru CSO? If you are why did you submit such a untactful and challenging comment.
Please continue to work for the betterment of Peru in your group and encourage those individuals to work for Peru in their ways. Personally if I was a member of the CSO I would let those whose initials are listed join with open arms. The more involved the more can be accomplished a lot easier. A path to success would be to enlarge the team rather than antagonize possible future members. Wishing all success Saturday!

To 2:08 pm, I believe that Anon 6:13 is referring to keeping all those terrible people he/she has listed with their initials "out" of elected office in Peru. Not "out" of the Peru CSO.
The Peru CSO is much more open to some "outsiders" than Peru government will ever be.
6:13 pm makes it very clear that the Peru CSO uses its membership to influence local elections and I doubt that most of the CSO membership is aware of the true purpose of the organization. Most of them are just glad to get out of the house for a meeting once in a while to knock down a few beers with the guys. I'm sure most of them are regular guys but there is no doubt in my mind that the Peru CSO is a political organization whose goals are to take care of and protect the interests of its membership, friends, and family.

Oh yes, those terrible people who dare to question the system! Those terrible people who defend what they believe in! Those terrible people who fight for justice! How dare they buck the system? They are labeled because they dared to question the difference between right and wrong. Because they dared to seek answers. Because they fought for what they believed was their right. Because they disagreed with a statement that was made or a judgement that was reached. How dare they!!!
