Banks Say No to Marijuana Money, Legal or Not - NYTimes.com
Yesterday at the Finance Meeting, the subject came up of how the businesses get their money transferred because marijuana is still considered illegal by the Federal Government and most banks (Federal and State) are unwilling to open accounts and companies therefore cannot use ATM's for money transfers. Also it was noted that it is the cities in the IV with ties to the IMEA that presently have been approached by the marijuana producing companies most frequently as in Peru, Princeton and Oglesby. Why are they looking for cities that produce their own electricity?
