Can someone please enlighten us as to what happened to the xmas displays that were purchased last year and put up at the airport? If they have been put up within the last day or 2 I apologize for my curiosity. If not, where are they and why would they not be put up somewhere in Peru? I don't think the airport is the answer. Trying to keep up with La Salle's Rotary Park is not within Peru's reach. They need to come up with their own ideas. My opinion!

Harl violates another campaign promise that he "will seek only two terms" as Peru mayor. This is a person with no sense of honesty or ethics. He is the typical phony elected official who intends to remain entrenched in public office for self-centered and self-important motivations. It's a sickness for people like Harl.

Have you noticed the new holiday banners on 4th street in downtown Peru? If someone hadn't pointed them out to me I would never have noticed them. They are the same color as the banners that were hanging on the lamp posts previously - yellow and blue. They do say "Happy Holidays" but in my opinion they are not holiday festive. Why not the traditional xmas colors so these banners can be differentiated from the commercial banners that we hung recently?

Heard ice skating rink is going up today. Hope snow was cleared off before liner was installed. Otherwise I would assume surface would be jagged with the freezing snow.

Scott Harl did not deserve to be elected for a second term as well as run for a 3rd. Upon voting for Mayor this spring I want assurance that I am voting for a candidate who wants to fill all aspects of the position of Mayor. If the position of ASM, created by Harl the ASM and the PSM, was to be the CEO of Peru this position and his name would be on the ballot not the Mayor's position.
The ASM was hired as a Police Chief and the PSM was voted by his peers as Fire Chief, positions which they have experience. They accepted additional responsibilities, responsibilities of which they lacking in knowledge, for a time frame of 3 months without a salary increase or less if the council successfully recruited a Public Works Director. The ASM is paid over $125,000/year and the PSM is paid a yearly salary over $95,000 in a town which barely has a population of 10,000. A Public Works Director years later has never been hired.

I have experienced the fact that politics as usual is alive and well in Peru and seem to be working on protecting their political turf. Just heard that R. Perez will be seeking the Mayoral position in April.

Perez vs. Harl would be the biggest match up possible. Harl is completely "hands off" and has delegated all responsibility to his created position of ASM except the difficult task of shaking hands.
Mr. Perez is a individual who attacks with the vigor of a pit bull and does not let go until satisfied. He as a alderman personally did his homework and handled political situations himself in a disciplined manner.

3:52 Didn't Perez loose 60%to 40% in the last election?

Giordano's house is for sale, he hasn't lived in it for a few years. He doesn't live in Peru. His campaign is a scam. He needs to drop out and let Perez take down Harl.

Yes, Perez lost his bid to be re-elected for alderman in the last election. Exactly what the percentage of votes received between the opposition and himself have very little relativity to the spring election since he is running against a different opponent and for a different office.
The Mayor election is city wide whereas a city council election is limited to a ward. Many, many changes have taken place since the last Mayors election and the election of Harl 8 years ago. Most if not all of these changes carry negative characteristics of Harl and his administration plus his highly paid appointments.

He (Perez) is still the same as he was back when he got beat. He is just out for the publicity and once his 25 friends said run his ego took over.IT should Giordano vs Harl in a one one, all Perez has done is insure the Mayor keeps his job. Nice job Perez.

Is Mr. Giordano in the race? Haven't heard, seen, or witnessed anything with regards to his campaigning. He seems to appear during elections when Mr. Harl has competition and then disappears. Is he attending council meetings, public service meetings, getting involved in any manner. Is he showing any interest in our government as of today?
