Does everyone feel as though the $500,000 spent on correcting the Venture Drive 38th Street intersection solved the problem that only exists at Christmas time? I did not witness it on Black Friday but I did 2 days before Christmas and in my opinion it was a total disaster. Cars were backed up both north and south on 251. Cars were backed up both east and west on 38th street blocking many business entryways. Cars were backed up on Peoria Street and on Venture Drive itself. Those exiting Dairy Queen and other businesses along Venture Drive had long waits to get out. So, in my opinion, the money spent to fix a problem that really only occurs once a year could have been put to better use and did not solve the problem.
I don't think much house cleaning will be done in April. All of the aldermen are running unopposed. People have figured out this city is too far gone to save, no one wants to get involved on a sinking ship.
HAPPY NEW YEAR LOIS AND BOB AND ALL PEOPLE ON EARTH. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LOIS OF KEEPING US INFORMED AND UP TO DATE ON WHAT IS HAPPENING IN PERU AND OUR SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.
I am 11:24 Dec. 28th I did not witness black Friday so I cannot speak for the condition of the roads involved on that day. I did however, witness 2 days before xmas as I blogged. The traffic and situation was, in my opinion, just as congested and backed up as in the past. And, 2:02 Jan. 4th what does my witnessing, what I would call a traffic jamming mess, have to do with my driving? Read what I blogged once again. I was just reporting what I saw, nothing more, nothing less.
With all the rules that have been posted at Baker Lake, why is it that ice fishing is allowed? When Baker Lake was being considered as a sight for future fireworks there was concern that someone might fall in the lake.

Remember the election is coming up in April - time to clean house on all the city elected (and unelected)!

Not true 2:56. We do have a contest in the 1st ward for the 2 year term between appointed current Mr. Ballard and Mr. Lily.

PERU IS NOT SINKING JUST GETTING BETTER EVERY DAY. VENTURE DRIVE RAN VERY SMOOTH ON BLACK FRIDAY. YOU MUST NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE.
2:02 if you noticed he did not witness black Friday, he said two days before Christmas. You must not know how to read.
No need to shout 2:02.
