We really need a change in our state legislature to turn this around. Locally, we can start by finding and electing someone to replace whoever is appointed to replace Mautino. The 2016 election will be critical to the future of Illinois.

Every election is going to be critical to the future of Illinois but only 20% of the eligible voters vote.

Is there no other candidate to replace Mautino other than Skoog? His name is the only one that seems to be coming up repeatedly. If there are no others in the running why not just make it public knowledge that he is the chosen candidate? There is another article in the Ottawa Times in which the reporter asks Skoog a specific question which he never really answers. It makes for informative reading.

Harl is the choice of the party.

think not 4:00. Harl's name is not even mentioned in any news article with regards to this appointment.

Harl is by far the best choice that the Democratic party could make. How could a political party pick a individual who associated his business with illegalities and expect respect. The continuous stories printed in the Ottawa paper is poor reporting as the media is telling the story out of Utica and Springfield as they must be told.
I do not observe Mayor Harl campaigning for the State Rep. position as Andy Scoog is and myself and most others thought this is a position which is appointed not campaigned for.

What makes you think the newspapers will know anything. The only reason "Skoogy Do" is mentioned is because he wrote a press release saying he was interested and he started collecting signatures on a petition.

"The Boss" does things behind closed doors. That is what the Democrat Party likes - secret meetings, keep the people in the dark, and Spend, spend, spend. Something "The Boss" is good at.

It is true, voters have had very little to do with who represents this district in Springfield. Voters have little if any impact since the 90's.
