Illinois has higher property taxes than every state with no income tax
And the Illinois population is finding ways to move to those states. Local governments need to carefully use their funds because that will also be reduced with less population.

we have to pay for all those expensive splash pads and all the spending on airports for the rich few to use!
really no comments!
It helps that the tax rates for City of Peru are very low and the utility rates are also low. This makes living in Illinois bearable.
The splash pad looks to be mostly built on grants and donations. I know donations are your Illinois Tax money. I would rather see money go to Peru than Chicago.
The airport has a number of positives that include economic development.
Living in any area is what you make it out to be. Living in the Illinois Valley has some very positives and like everywhere some negatives. If your looking for politicians to invent happiness? You are looking in the wrong mirror.
The Peru Fire White pick up is out this morning distributing Harl signs
1:17 Should the city be doing that?
ARE YOU SERIOUS 1:17 FEB. 24th OR ARE YOU JUST STIRRING THE POT? IF YOU ARE SERIOUS THIS NEEDS TO BE REPORTED. I do know one thing. They was a lot of complaining about how many signs Mr. Perez had around town. Well, the Harl signs are popping up all over and many, many of them are of the large size. Will anyone complain about that? I'm not. I'm just bringing it to the attention of those who complained about Perez signs.
1:25 got to guarantee your overpaid, underqualified for job!
You are you going to report it too ? The mayor , the police chief ? That's funny... Report it !
