The City of Peru needs to buy an Outback Steak House and put it next to the Olivia Garden. Why wont they buy good restaurants? Little Creasers is not that good. The city should have took that money and put in a good place to eat.

From the looks of LaSalle last night, I would say that their upscale eating places must have had a good nite. From Joliet to Bucklin the parking spaces were filled with cars. Peru has quite a few places up north but hardly anything on the Rte 6 route. Anyone else notice how bad that smoky business at 6 nd peoria looks at nite either windows r dirty or its got lotsa smoke in there. Gross..

7:24 The level of economic intelligence has gone to -10 on a 1-10 scale. Thank you for your important comment.

I don't like Outback. I think Bobby V. should be looking for an A&W. Our A&W is a Chinese place now. They should have never allowed that. They could put a new A&W up by the Mall.

8:29 AM, You lack the "intelligence" to know when you are being "punked" dude. #too easy!

I think Skoog is actually a Republican.

The nearest A&W is in Bloomington. That is to far away. We need one in Peru.

10:30, how about Oglesby!

Anonymous said...

12:47 PM - that is NOT an A&W. It is a "Root Beer Stand" built in an old defunct A&W.

Oglesby's is wonderful. Have eaten there often and would highly recommend it and the service is excellent.

Last night's paper revealed that we hired a code enforcement office to start May 2nd. It was indicated that it was not a retired police officer as had been previously discussed and would not carry a gun as was also mentioned at a council meeting. No name was once again mentioned. Does anyone have any ideas who this person is?

10:57 And why we never openly reveal their name?

Damnit. I really liked Harl's idea of giving some flunky grass clippings monitor carrying a weapon to threaten Peru residents who blow grass clippings in the street. That was a great idea Harl. Let's provide the Meter Readers with a gun also. It's pretty dangerous out on the mean streets of Peru. They can shoot all those "drug-traffickers" who are actually just heroin addicts trying to get money for feed their habit. Brian Towne and Bernabei perpetuate the myth that those poor bastards they are busting are dealers when they know they are addicts who need a treatment option instead of hard jailtime. Leave it to phony democrat politicians like Towne, Harl and Bernabei to exploit the misery of heroin addicts to further their own selfish political ambitions.

The reason for "no name" code enforcement officer is simple. He/she will be working undercover. Here's a tip for you...watch for the ESDA vehicle they have given him/her. That should tip you of if her/she is in the neighborhood.

2:14 PM, April 27, 2016 - the meter reader and the code enforcement officer should be able to carry a gun just like a private citizen can - as long as they have a concealed carry permit.

Or 2:38 maybe he/she is somehow connected to someone already connected to our city/government.
