Just Asking. Will You Be Keeping the New Oversize Garbage Cans in Peru?

We have  our brand new shiny plastic garbage totes and find them to be too big, way too big. Storage is a problem as is the cumbersome issue and all this for not more than one bag, sometimes small and sometimes enough to fill the old metal can we have used for years. So we are calling for an exchange.

Perhaps we should have been surveyed or been obliged to call for the size most convenient for each family or individual. Your thoughts on this.

Please give it a rest. Check other towns and see what they pay for garbage. Peru residents benefit. The carts have easy to use rollers. The can closes so you won't get the neighbors flying garbage. It can't be that hard for residents to adapt to new cans? Do we need a referendum for garbage cans?

I am very happy to see the city starting to think about younger families. The splash pad looks great and hope to see it open soon. The new larger garbage cans will be a huge help to those stupid stickers I used to purchase for extra trash. I'm told the seniors will be able to order smaller cans after a few months. I also read Oglesby's garbage cost went up to over $16 dollars, mine is only $14 in Peru. Oh and my kids loved the warplanes this weekend.

Do people really have nothing better to do than complain about garbage cans? Who cares!

This was not a complaint, it was a stated opinion. Your attitude seems to need some improvement. Yes new ones can be ordered and people can use whatever they have been using until July 2. So that means Grandma and Grandpa Jones can continue to put out their small plastic bags of waste.

We did not expect something so huge and maybe it will all work out again as it has for many years. We have never purchased extra stickers as we never put out that much garbage. Can't anyone start a conversation in Peru without someone "bitching" about what was said. btw, we talked to several of our neighbors and they feel the same, way to big for them. There are also several homes nearby unoccupied and I don't think there are any plans to sell or rent them and they have the duo of totes in their front yard, will they stay there.

Nope.... It is a complaint plain and simple!! Lois you are never happy with anything the City does and never will be. You do not need to be the center of every decision that the city makes. Accept some change and by the way, if you want to see where all the "bitching is coming from", look in the mirror!
Keep up the good work, you make me laugh every day!!
