My Thanks to the Peru Electric Department

This morning I would like to thank the Peru Electric Dept. workers for quickly coming to our home to solve an electrical issue that had developed over the past few days with  lights blinking off and on intermittently throughout the house  They took one look at the connection to the house and identified the problem, got up to the wires and it is fixed. Prompt and very courteous and we wish to thank them and we wish them a Merry Christmas.

  2. Actually I have Ameren, and they were awesome in responding to a gas leak .

I always found them to be very professional and courteous. I have nothing bad to say about Peru Elec dept, but don't know why every praise has to pit someone else down.

  3. you will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get better service with a private company, they have an obligation to make you a happy customer otherwise you go somewhere else, for obvious reasons, they don't want that to happen.

  4. 10:56 - Ha Ha Ha Ha, since when are utilities "private companies?" They are government regulated monopolies. While it is true you can choose your electricity provider in some areas one cannot do that in Peru - we are stuck with what we got and Harl takes money from that just like he takes money from the infrastructure tax. Anyway, most utilities are about as trustworth as your average politician.

  7. The point was there never seems to be a compliment given without some local putting a big company, non local or non union person down.

Small town does not automatically mean better.

  8. It's the city's job and employees to take care of problems regarding electrical issues. Why do they need or get a thank you? Do people get a thank you for doing their job making minimum wage? NOT.

  10. Do they need or ask for a thank you? No. But Lois obviously was taught the fine art of courtesy. I think with all the negative comments about city workers that it was nice to see a compliment. They are not all lazy or crooks. Really? Minimum wage people don't get thank you'd? I give mine freely whether they make min wage or $30 an hour. My folks taught me manners. Too bad a lot of folks here seem to have forgotten that. I understand wanting answers and a lot needs to be fixed, but please have some civility. And before I get accused I am not an employee or family of one.

  11. Is it true that the city's building/code enforcer officers position sometimes doesn't even work 1/2 an hour a week for that position? And Harl appointed this position combined with a full-time fire chief at eighty four thousand a year. How did this get approval through the council? The city needs to really needs to look into this. This salary was a gift in my opinion at taxpayers expense.

  14. Anon 10:21 You do not say who's job pays this amount/week plus huge benefits. Lets match a title to your description I say - Vice President Joe Bidden!
Paid overtime with $1700/week salary I highly doubt it.
