  1. Citizens of Peru who live close to a park pay special attention to "George McCormack's July 8, 2012" comment. This could happen to you!

Historical Society to help defray expenses
for the Oct. 7 Burgoo Festival

  3. I sincerely hope you are mistaken that Peru City Council agreed to donate $4,000 of the citizenship's tax money to any municipality. If they have they should all be thrown out of office before there is a opportunity to vote them out of office.
During the last election it was often stated that Mayor Baker keep too tight a reign on the council, now it makes sense. Thanks Mayor Baker. I paid taxes for one reason and that is to operate the city of Peru. Any giveaways of tax money increases the amount of tax I have to pay. If Peru gave $4,000 away Thanks Mayor Harl you have had over three full years in office if you haven't learned how to tighten those reigns by now please call Mayor Baker for advise.
Please pass the 3x5 cards down the isle.

Not sure where the N.T. got the information but according to Ald. Perez it is untrue.

    From Rodney Perez

I believe it was $500.00 that the city approved to donate to the Historical Society back in late March or April.
This donation was made from our city pillow tax fund. The topic of the Burgoo was not mentioned during our meeting. In my opinion the historic society donation will be used in areas that will promote our city, and their cause.
This was clearly an error printed in the trib which i'm sure they will correct.

    Thank you,
    Rodney Perez
