Great to see that the new Governor's review of the "Pot Permit" process revealed what many of us had always suspected. The word in Springfield is that Peru officials acted "improperly" by selectively discriminating against at least one company who was denied an opportunity to compete for a permit in Peru. Also, the vetting process revealed that Harl and his personal lobbyist,(who is paid for with Peru taxes), attempted to influence the selection process by making "promises" of financial support to several political organizations. Nice to see that this type of behavior was not successful in this instance.
Congratulations to the city of Oglesby for being an honest and credible governemnt, as opposed to Peru. How refreshing to know our lobbyist is doing such "honorable" job representing Peru as instructed by Harl.

8:13 - The Oglesby growing facility was on Quinn's list - as well as the Ottawa distribution facility.
Rauner did not "undue" anything locally.
If what you are saying is true - Quinn was the one that squashed it.
Rauner did hold back on a few other licenses pending further review.

Peru Robbiest (lobbiest) is a joke. He's too busy attending golf outings and working for boss Hardly (Harl)
Has there even been any reports from this guy on what he's done? Well he's a democrat who's never been able to get anything done for Peru and now with a Republican Governor it's time to fire his A$$!

? If all is true and if anyone has concrete evidence of wrongdoings of Peru representation please submit to the blog with your comments. Also it would be beneficial to inform others of this blog and the ability to participate and make their own comments.
Remember Peru will have a election in a few months in which the existing administration supports its "favorites" with well organized support and personal "arm twisting". To express that a few have tainted the last 2 elections for private benefit would be a shortcoming to the truth.

To all you pot smokers with medical cards that think this medical marijuana thing is going to be cheep. Be prepared to pay 10 to 20 times more for the product at the legal store than you would pay from the local illegal dealer. Probably fifty times more than if you grew just enough for yourself in your basement.
My prediction - the local District 17 market will not survive more than a year unless one thing happens - they make recreational use legal.

12:57, INSURANCE WILL PAY. LOOK HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON DISIBILITY, SOME WHO ARE LEGIT, SOME WHO PLAYED THE SYSTEM AND ARE LAZY WITHOUT AILEMENTS. THINK OF THOSE WHO WILL HAVE A SCRIPT FOR IT AND WILL SELL A PORTION OF THEIRS. I think illegal sales will decrease.

1:55 - Not true. Health insurance does not cover medical pot. That is a 100% out of pocket expense. You can't even deduct it as a medical expense. Health Insurance is prohibited by federal law from covering it. They cannot cover it until the FDA approves it for use - that is a Federal agency not a State agency.
If this drug was legitimate in the eyes of the Federal Government you would be able to purchase it at a drug store and these dispensing centers would not be necessary.

Again - POT is NOT covered by medical insurance.

Additionally - if your employer has a no POT policy - the medical card does not get you out of that requirement. If you test positive, you can still be fired. Especially if you are a school teacher, nurse, etc.

813 AM, I have heard from several sources how the "Peru way of doing business" was revealed to the pot permitting agency in Springfield. When it was revealed some of Peru's elected officials had accepted "gifts" from at least two of the companies trying to locate in Peru, the city was "black-balled" immediately. It really is good to see the Peru way of doing business thoroughly rebuked by honest government agencies. Peru's officials will at least have to keep the corruption close to home.

2:20, tell us about the "gifts." Just say, from what you heard through a third party and you will be ok to explain on your comment. Isn't freedom of speech wonderful?

The only reason Illinois passed this silly law was to move closer to making recreational use "legal."

Their plan is to keep the voters stoned.

Legalizing recreational marijuana would be a step in the right direction for the entire state of Illinois.

4:09, I haven't laughed this hard in years. Probably about 40 years to be exact. Lol.

History and past evidence of the actions of political representation in Peru have lent themselves to the thought that the voters have already been stoned and anything is worth a try to change their attitude around.
Considering the sparse turnout on election day it may be a good idea to have a 50-50 drawing at each precinct.
