Is the Electric Department Taking in Laundry Now?

On the disbursements of 8/29/2012 there is a payment for a water softener for a pressure washer in the amount of 605.40. And following that a monthly charge for 58.30 or 699.60 per year.

People put in water softeners for many reasons, usually so water suds more easily when washing clothes or even to keep their cars from spotting from the hard water when washing them.. Just curious if it is laundry, dish washing or car washing? And why we have to pay for it. Just give me a logical explanation.

During the same year there was an expense to Apple Press for 206.00 of supplies listed as Trader Joe's. For what?

And don't even get me started on the fence around the old power plant which thankfully is down, isn't it?

I thought the city tap water was treated at a softening plant.

Is the water softner for the black SUV that has MAYOR for the license plate?

Possibly the amount of lime in Perus water makes it impossible to wash a black Jeep without spotting unless you have a water softner attatched to the pressure washer.
Isn't Apple Press the printing corporation which prints the city calendar and billed Peru for $156.00 delivery charges plus printing charges for the calendar. Is it a Peru firm owned by the supporter of the club which has been located in the basement of city hall. The most recent public property committee meeting indicates that further plans are being made for this same basement. Presently the only delay is the election. Doesn't city hall have elevators and the intentions of the basement was for the populace of the entire city such as meetings and social activities such as dance clubs etc?

Anon 10:06 Duh? Would'nt think so, but than this is the 1st time I"ve ever seen a set of license plates with a Mayor insignia stamped onto them. They are referred to as VANITY PLATES!
If a person is no longer Mayor do they by law have to get different plates? Such as Ex-Mayor.

You've got to be kidding people. Surely we did not put in a pressure washer and water softener at the electric department for washing cars (especially not the mayor's personal car)?

If the water softner is at the electric plant its because Harl takes his vehicles up there to get washed by city employees. Sometimes Potthoff picks up the mayors vehicle when he's in his office and takes it up to electric plant and has it cleaned by employees and then returns it. The whole time pottoffs city truck sits at the mayors private door in case he needs a vehicle to use.

How about license plates that alot of fireman have? So many of those vehicles are outside bars at the same time. Also, used in the hopes of not being pulled over at 11p.m.-3a.m. True! . Amazing! VOTE TUESDAY FOR A NEW MAYOR. HARTTTTTTTT FOR MAYOR. Don't even tell me that the city has 5 gallons of water delivered for consumption. Do they????? Does the bb gun room have a water fountain? Or do club members bring their own water????? Hart for mayor! I've been to council meetings and do see water bottles in front of council members. WHO PAYS FOR THAT WATER????Curious!

Those are good questions. Hopefully taxpayers money doesn't buy bottled water for consumption. I myself being a taxpayer can't afford to buy bottled water for my family. ALDERMAN PEREZ? Can you answer the questions from 12:07 ? Thank You. IS THERE A VENDING MACHINE AT CITY HALL TO PURCHASE BOTTLED WATER??

This city is so corrupt! What does it tell you when alot of aldermans children in all the surrounding towns are living and working outside of the Illinois valley? No growth or jobs going on around here.

Does anybody know where the victory parties on Tuesday night are going to be??? Wonder if the police will be out in full force?? Revenue for the city if they are.

Yes there is bottled water in a small refrigerator for the aldermen, mayor, department heads to use.

I've seen bottled water on the disbursement sheets.

I have taken water from there, but lately I've been putting mine back if not needed. Last week I brought my own water. I think we can afford to bring our own water, and we should.

Anyone can buy police, fire, agriculture, domestic violence, vanity plates, sports teams plate etc. There are about 50 specialty plates anyone can buy. Someone may buy a specialty plate just because of the color. Firefighter plates don't make a fireman owns that vehicle.

The mayor is foolish to want Trader Joes in Peru. They already know we would not support it. How? Follow me.... The richest family in Germany are the Albrechts. The brothers Theo and Karl started Albrecht Discount. In 1979 the north division purchased Trader Joes. Did you figure it out? Albrecht Discount is also known as Aldi. Aldi has been in Peru so long I don't remember when they opened. I love Aldi and I have never seen the Peru mayor in the PERU store. Now the important part. Aldi offers many standard items at great prices. They also offer new, special, healthy and organic products. Many times I have seen the healthy and organic products on clearence because they do not sell - even at low prices. I have purchased some and thought they were very good. Personally I would like to see a Whole Foods store in the area, but I don't think it would make it. The Hy-Vee 'healthy and organic' section seems to be struggling. Kudos for Hy-Vees persistance in keeping the section available for us to try new things. In summary - Trader Joes knows what we buy and they know a Trader Joes would not go over well in this area YET. Ally
P.S. some Aldis are offering Trader Joe products.

I was told that the admin offices get a pallet of water delivered for personal use. No vending machines.
Also, heard Scott is not having his party at the Eagles. Wonder why?? Ask him. or ask any active member out there.

I knew no party at the Eagles for Harl but thought it was because of the Hart get together. Also some conflict with people who work there, is that right?

The effort by Mayor Harl to contact the store Trader shoes came after a blog post on here referencing a few citizens had contacted the Corp office on their own regarding the Jewel location. Check the timing of the printing, the newspaper article. Coincidence?
I think he was covering his bases so if it happened it would look like he had something to do with it.
The post on here was speculation, nothing more. But he jumped all over it, hook line and laughably sinker. Thats not how to run a city.

Taxpayers buying bottled water for meetings. Etc.... WRONG WRONG WRONG! How do taxpayers feel about this? Do attendees(public) who attend council meetings get free bottles water? Wonder what the bottle water expense has been the last 4 years? Bring your own darn water and quit sponging off us taxpayers. HART FOR MAYOR!!! Are you kidding me about palets of water being delivered???? WRONG!!!

Which establishment provides services(food?drinks?) for Christmas parties? That probably will be where Harl and his boys club will be!

Anonymous said...

People tend to have "their place to go", but after people figure them out and they are not what they portray themselves to be, they find a new place! Re: 10:21 blog! There are only so many establishments in Peru. LOL.

Had to laugh, heard a ad on radio this morning for Harl, the very next advertisement was about 45 seconds long for connecting point. So so funny!!! TWO PEAS IN A POD! Where are all the videotaping of council meetings???? WHAT A JOKE!!!

I heard "Hurl" is having his party in Ottawa were he will be listening to the results with the "impotant peoples" in LaSalle County. No sense spending money on the riff raff AFTER the election. Need a special invite also - along with a check to help out some friends during the next election.

Anonymous said...

After he called the county out on the carpet yesterday, I cannot believe he would step foot over there.

Anonymous said...

Let Ottawa keep him. Those in attendance at his gathering will only be there for 2 reasons. 1 - have to make an appearance, or 2) their business is bound to benefit from city tax dollars.
Hope it ends tomorrow night.

get that power washer ready the mayor is going to need a clean car for the next 4 years and why would we the taxpayers mind paying for it? joke on us
