You mean you can't use city equipement for your own personal use? What if I use my own gas? Or just dumping gravel for a family member?

Sure, just let anyone use for anything especially the taxpayers who pay for vehicles. Does Peru have a policy that only authorized city workers/employees can be passengers? They should! Also, can friends/girlfriends/boyfriends/husbands/wives/children,etc.. Be passengers? Liability here. ? What is
The city of peru's policy?????

Rodney just grabs a truck and loads it up with (volunteers) when ever he wants to get in the paper. I wonder how big a law suit that would leave us tax payers open for god for bid something happens. I think the only people in city vehcles should be city workers not elected officers trying to be famous.

The city vehicle that Ald. Perez uses when he is cleaning up the city is a city owned BUS used to transport residents when shopping and by Watts for his Daycation trips, so it would be the same liability as the other uses. I personally think you are complaining about something that does not exist. BTW if our departments were doing this, volunteers would not need to.

i'VE SEEN PARTIME EMPLOYS TAKE CITY TRUCKS HOME , AND CITY LAWN TRACTORS HOME FOR LUNCH . SAME THING TO ME . THE COST OF GAS AND I'M SURE SOMBODY COULD USE THAT TRUCK OR MOWER WHILE HE'S GONE . I'VE SAID THIS SO MANY TIMES BUT NO BODY CARES . the city has money to burn just as the tresurer !

Does the city have a published list which states how many vehicles it has per department? How many of these vehicles are taken to someones home at the end of the work day and how many are parked overnight at a city furnished facility and by whom? Accountability, Accountability, Accountability! How many people have been already added and how many people will be added to the city payroll for summer help? What is the scheduled work outline that is to be accomplished this summer with this particular work group or are they to be sent out daily with the old shotgun scatter method? What figure was arrived at for hourly pay? Speaking of hourly pay where have the time clocks been located for the city employees?
This administration should drop all extra curricular activities and get back to basics.

Alderman Perez, your humor about loading volunteers in truck at 9:00 is understandably taken as humorous. Ate you not thinking of the city's insurance liabilities? True volunteers wouldn't mind driving themselves and paying their own gas. Look at the whole picture. Rodney, your enthusiasm for the city of Peru is commendable. Lawsuits are not funny.

AS I have said before the city uses that bus for hauling people all the time and this would be no different. They have insurance to cover any possible problems.

Will DONUTS be available? I like the old fashioned glazed ones. Lol!

Anon 8:24 has questions which amount to some real money over the years. Has the answer to these questions been reduced to one bus and one clean up day, Alderman?

Is'nt it interesting how Rodney has called the News Tribune already to make sure he gets his picture in the paper?

Boy, sure sounds like someone is threatened by Mr. Perez. Wonder why?

Rodney and his volunteers should have their picture in the paper for doing good. Read the paper, people volunteer for stuff all the time and get their pictures in the paper. You that are complaining must be one of the few that told him he couldn't drive his personal vehicle to fire calls when he had campaign signs on it. You must be some of the few that feel threatened and worried for your job because he's honest and worried about our town instead if himself.
